Crete is a place with many contrasts, it is the bigger island of Greece and the fifth in size of Mediterranean. The island from the old days, with a variety of landscapes, polymorph climate, fertile land and over-populated, was apointed in a type of bridge in the crossroad of three continents.
It includes the prefectures: Chania, Heraklio, Lasithi, Rethymno.

Important in the island it is the growth of agriculture and trade, that was stopped with the German possession in 1941, in which Cretans strongly resisted. In 1945, when it was released, entered in news phase of history, that is characterized by intense reorganisation and reconstruction.
